Counseling for Trauma
"To heal from trauma, we need to understand the way our beliefs about ourselves and the world have changed."
-Bessel van der Kolk

Trauma creates a profound sense of disruption, filling your mind with intense emotions and painful memories. This persistent condition often keeps you trapped in a cycle of fear and avoidance, making it difficult to engage fully with life in ways that reflect your true desires. At its core, trauma fosters a deep disconnection from yourself and others, hindering your ability to find peace and fulfillment.
In therapy, we’ll begin by creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment, allowing you to explore your feelings and experiences openly. Through empathetic listening and validation, I will help you embrace your emotions, leading to a deeper understanding of your trauma. We’ll incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to identify and heal the different parts of yourself affected by past experiences, and we’ll use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to challenge and reframe unhelpful thoughts related to your trauma. Additionally, somatic and mindfulness practices will help you reconnect with your body and emotions, fostering a sense of safety.
Together, we’ll work on accepting these feelings while gradually facing and processing your trauma in a safe way, empowering you to reclaim your life. Ultimately, you’ll identify your values, set meaningful goals, and take actionable steps toward a fulfilling life, even amid the echoes of past pain.
If you’re ready to take that first step, reach out to us. Hope is within reach, and we’re here to help you find it.
