Angela Heersink LPC, MA
Welcome...

I’m a compassionate and dedicated counselor with a deep passion for supporting children and families on their journey toward healing, growth, and connection.
I specialize in working with kids who are navigating big feelings, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum differences (ASD), behavioral challenges, trauma, or life transitions—and I believe that with the right support, every child has the capacity to thrive.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a non-directive, person-centered philosophy, with a strong foundation in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and parts work. I strive to create a warm, safe, and playful space where children feel seen, heard, and accepted just as they are. Whether through talk, play, or creative expression, I honor each child’s unique way of making sense of their world.
I am especially drawn to attachment-based play therapy, which allows children to explore their inner experiences and strengthen relational bonds through connection and creativity. I work closely with caregivers as part of the healing process, offering guidance and insight to help nurture the parent-child relationship and build emotional resilience at home. Together, we’ll uncover the strengths already within your child and your family, and gently support the areas that need healing and growth.

I have particular experience supporting children and teens who struggle with shame, low self-esteem, anxiety, or the impacts of past trauma. My goal is to help them develop a strong sense of self, build emotional awareness, and grow into confident, connected individuals.

While my work is primarily focused on children, I also support teens and adults who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion. My integrative approach blends ACT’s values-based framework, mindfulness, and parts work, tailored to each individual’s needs.

As someone who has walked my own path of healing, I bring empathy and authenticity to my work. Whether your child is struggling, or you're seeking support for yourself or your family, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
I offer in-person sessions in Alamosa and remote sessions across Colorado.
